The Mental Health Association in Tompkins County was honored to be recognized as one of several local organizations that received the James J. Byrnes Awards for Excellence presented by Tompkins Community Bank in 2025.

The Awards for Excellence program celebrates individuals and organizations who make significant contributions to improving the quality of life in Tompkins County through volunteerism, service, and community leadership.

Through this year’s awards, more than $12,000 was distributed to local charities. MHA was selected in recognition of our ongoing work to promote mental health recovery and provide peer-based support services for individuals and families throughout Tompkins County.

We are deeply grateful to Tompkins Community Bank and the Legacy Foundation of Tompkins County which oversees the bank's endowment fund. Local philanthropy plays an important role in sustaining the services we provide, and we are honored to be recognized among organizations working to strengthen the well-being of our community.
