Our Services

At the Mental Health Association in Tompkins County (MHA), we’ve been dedicated to empowering individuals, families, and organizations in Tompkins County for over six decades. Drawing on both lived experience and professional training, we provide free peer support, advocacy, and services that promote mental health recovery and prevent mental illness.

  • Peer Counseling

    Our Peer Support Specialists offer emotional support, share knowledge, teach practical skills, and connect you with resources.

  • Justice Support Services

    Support for individuals with mental health or co-occurring challenges in the criminal justice system.

  • Social Drop-In

    A stigma-free space for those with mental health challenges to connect, socialize, and get help navigating community resources.

  • Recovery Support Services

    Non-clinical approach to supporting individuals in their recovery from substance use disorders goes here

  • Family Peer Support

    Support to families who are caring for or raising a child facing social, emotional, developmental, substance use, or behavioral challenges. goes here

  • Mental Health First Aid

    Teaches participants the skills to identify, de-stigmatize, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorder, enabling those trained to offer immediate, concrete support.
